Heather Wright and her show “Weird Wonder: Surrealism From Tiny Nature” will be shown from April 17th to April 30th at the Historic State Theater in downtown Ely, Mn.

A reception will be had to celebrate her and her work on April 29th from 5 PM to 7 PM.

A word from the artist:

Surrealism has always been a strong influence on my work. I enjoy distorting images or settings in botany, micro landscapes, mycology, and medical sciences. Each piece has an extensive amount of natural world context in images and/or titles. There is so much to explore as one looks deeper into the dimensions of our physical planet we can’t often see at a glance. I want to search for those unseen and unexplored spaces.
