The community of International Falls has produced several young filmmakers in the past few years, and three of them will have their work featured on the big screen at the Jester.  Rachel Adams Malasig (FHS Class of 2012) will present a series of short films from her production company Pranksters Ink.  Anna Remus’ (FHS 2009) has written, produced and directed an intense thriller titled ‘Keeper’.  And David Griffith (FHS 2020) starred in a feature film produced in Minnesota titled ‘Bobby’s Intermission’ which will be screened in its entirety.

Anna Remus is a director and writer who attended Harvard after FHS.  After graduation, Anna worked on nationally-broadcast programs such as Downton Abbey; interviewed award-winning talent, including Benedict Cumberbatch; and managed visual storytelling projects for brands like Cigna, Zulily, and The Roku Channel.  Anna was awarded a place in the 2018 Stowe Story Labs fall cohort. In 2020, she placed as a Runner-Up in the ScriptED Writing Challenge at Sundance Film Festival, and was a WIF Mentorship Program mentee. In 2023, she returns to Stowe Story Labs as a feature campus writer, and is a Blackmagic Collective 2023 Producers Lab Fellow with her feature script SHED.

Rachel Adams Malasig attended Biola U in Los Angeles where she earned her Cinema and Media Arts degree in 2016.  After graduating, Rachel developed a knack for getting ‘on set’ in a variety of projects until landing a job on The Marvelous Mrs Mazel. This led to regular work in production management in Hollywood where she’s worked on such films as Don’t Look Up, The High Note, and the soon-to-be released Mean Girls musical.  But that’s just her day job.  After moving back to Los Angeles in 2019 Rachel has been producing with creative collaborator Megan Mead at their production company Prankster's Ink. Their short film "SugarDaddy" premiered at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre during the Hollywood Comedy Short Festival in April, 2019.

David Griffith is a 2020 graduate of Rainy River Community College and Falls High School. During his school years, he appeared in numerous plays, musicals, and special theatrical events through Borealis Bards, Gooseberry Park Players and the Icebox Radio Theater.  On the high school Speech Team, David was a captain for two years and received several awards.  After high school, David lived in the Twin Cities where he was signed to a few modeling agencies and began to do commercial and print work (you may have seen his Rubik Cube commercial while watching ESPN+). David was part of the 2022 International Model and Talent Convention (IMTA) in New York in which he received several awards and was offered a college scholarship to continue his education.  Most recently in 2023, David lived abroad for six months working at a hostel in Estonia, a children’s camp in Romania, and in England working at an art workshop for children. David has had great fulfillment in directing, teaching, and coaching others.  He plans to some day get his degree in teaching English, Speech, and Theater.
