Cherry Koch’s portrait series “Rug on Fire,” where Koch began the project with an open call for models. “I posed the question: ‘Have you ever felt unsafe in public due to visible queerness?’ I photographed the models for painting references and asked them a series of interview questions regarding their queer experience in the community.”

Painting will be hung at Wussows Concert Cafe for the month of February and at Zeitgeist for the month of March. Some portions of the interviews will be displayed adjacent to the paintings, while the full interviews will be available for viewers to read online via a QR code.

On February 8th, a reception and gathering will be held at Wussows.
